New dialogue forum for the e-krona
News The Riksbank is gathering together experts in a new dialogue forum on the e-krona, a digital complement to cash. The forum consists of representatives from banks, FinTech, retail and universities. Their knowledge is considered to be particularly interesting in the continued work on designing a possible e-krona.
The aim of the forum is to gather knowledge and information from the participants who can help the Riksbank in its work on designing a sustainable ecosystem for the e-krona, should a decision be taken to issue it. The dialogue forum is one of several ways for the Riksbank to obtain input from, and conduct discussions with, market participants.
Examples of issues that may be discussed in the forum include different uses for an e-krona, business models, the role distribution in an e-krona system, data protection and anonymity, as well as other aspects such as design proposals.
After each meeting, the Riksbank will publish a summary from the discussion.
The forum will be in place for a limited period of time and will have no decision-making or other formal advisory functions.
